Growing up in the small coastal town of Mersing, Malaysia, before moving to Singapore for school at eight years old, Jin followed the conventional path: study, graduate, and work a stable corporate job for seven years. But something always felt off. The idea of settling down in one place, following the script laid out for him, felt more like a cage than security. What started as an impulsive decision became a lifestyle. To sustain his travels, Jin volunteers in hostels through platforms like Worldpackers, exchanging work for accommodation. This slow-travel approach allows him to go beyond just visiting places—he immerses himself in local cultures, builds connections with strangers, and experiences the world in a way that isn’t possible through quick vacations. From backpacking through Europe to living in Latin America, each destination has been a chapter in an ongoing story of self-discovery.Now, Jin is sharing that journey online on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Telling stories of his learnings and personal reflections.
