Second Hands Truth
from Silvio Vinci Hosted by Silvio Vinci
SECOND HAND TRUTH (reworking of instrumental original track, Polium, by Silvio Vinci) You heard it on the corner, you read it on the wall, everybody’s talking but nobody knows at all. You wear somebody’s answer like a brand-new suit, but I don’t need another second hand truth. Second hand truth — coming down the line. Second hand truth — somebody else’s mind. Take it, shake it, turn it inside out. If you never ask the question, you’ll never know what it’s about. Preacher on the radio, stranger on the street, everybody’s selling something clean and sweet. But underneath the sugar there’s a different kind of fruit. I don’t wanna live on second hand truth. Tell me what you know… Not what you heard. Open up the window, let the dirty daylight in. Truth don’t need a uniform, truth don’t need a skin. I’ve been wrong a hundred times, I’ll be wrong again — I’d rather lose my way than follow someone else’s pen. Second hand truth — coming down the line. Second hand truth — I ain’t buying mine. Break it, burn it, throw it from the roof — I’d rather live with questions than a second hand truth. Second hand… Second hand… TRUTH!
