Most people dig the idea of a full-body massage, but did you know you could DIY?

In Episode 48 of A Healthy Curiosity, host Brodie Welch, L.Ac. talks with Gin Burchfield, BS, CYT, LMBT, about the benefits of self-massage, known in the Ayurvedic tradition as Abhyanga. The benefits of massage are many and varying, and they penetrate all layers of our being: physical, mental, emotional, and sometimes spiritual. Listen in as Gin and Brodie discuss the ways that Abhyanga has helped them as a modality of both healing and self-care.

In this episode, we explore:

  • What is abhyanga? What does it do?
  • How do you perform abhyanga?
  • How might an Ayurvedic newbie build up to abhyanga?
  • A Sanskrit inspired chant to go along with your self-massage practice
