Am 24. September 2016 ließ Papst Franziskus Pater Engelmar Unzeitig selig sprechen. Tausende Gläubige nahmen am Festakt im Würzburger Kiliansdom teil. Engelmar Unzeitig ist ein Märtyrer der Nächstenliebe, ein Mariannhiller Missionar, der für seinen Glauben litt und starb. Von Mithäftlingen wurde er der "Engel von Dachau" genannt.
