South Australian Senator Penny Wong told Jodie & Soda they are on a mission to have the same-sex marriage bill passed by Christmas.“It’s a really momentous occasion to have a bill supported by the two major parties and so many people from the cross bench, the motion we passed also will require that bill to be dealt with by the Senate by the end of November 30, my word is we should all be working to finish this by Christmas”Whilst Senator Wong said she’s in no rush to propose to her partner Sophie but she hopes it will change the way Australians think for future generations including her daughters.“I think about our daughters Alexandra and Hannah and the world I want for them”“And the love and the commitment we have is seen for what it’s worth and not diminished in anyway and I think it’s about the country and the world I want for them”
