September 4, 2026, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries)

Friends of the Rosary,Christ the Lord was challenged by the Pharisees, being asked why he didn't encourage fasting among his followers, as we read today (Luke 5:33-39). His answer, in typical Jewish style, came with another question:“Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?”This image of the wedding feast appears frequently in the New Testament, most notably in the Cana wedding narrative.Jesus is the wedding of heaven and earth, the marriage of divinity and humanity. Christ is the bridegroom, and the Church is the bride.
