Serving vs Selfishness - Kristin Padilla

Serving is a weapon against the idol of self or, as we could call it in our culture, Selfishness. When we elevate ourselves to a place of worship, we make an idol out of ourselves. Our worship is giving in to our every want and need. God has given us the tool of Serving to combat this idol in our lives. When we serve others, like Jesus' example, we move the idol of self off the pedestal and keep God in his rightful place. Serving others is equal to serving God. He says what you've done for the least of these, you have also done for me. No one can live your faith for you. Serving is a basic tool God has given us to combat this big idol, Selfishness.
