Sesoko alleges collusion in police blue-lights investigation.

from Update@Noon · host SAfm

The head of Investigations and Operations at the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption, Matthews Sesoko, has told the Madlanga Commission that he warned investigators about former IPID official Cedric Nkabinde during a meeting in January 2025. Sesoko says the meeting focused on a Crime Intelligence investigation and a report that was being prepared for then Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. He testified that he cautioned officials that Nkabinde had allegedly colluded with suspects in the so-called "blue lights" investigation involving the procurement and installation of blue lights for police vehicles. Sesoko says he viewed Nkabinde as dishonest, citing evidence gathered during the investigation.
