Session 63 - One Size Fits All

I'm sure you are familiar with the concept of the "one size fits all", policy. It's, perhaps it's similar to when you call your bank on the telephone and you have to go through the process of listening to the options available to you! Press one to arrange a mortgage, press two to order a statement, etc, etc. You already know what I mean, you have gone through this ordeal to try to get the answer to a quite straightforward question. Oftentimes, it takes ages. A phone call, that can last hours. I think that's a prime example of the: "one size fits all policy". And yet this 'one size fits all' doesn't really meet our needs, we are forced to go down a funnel in the hope that we find the answers to the questions we have. Or it's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It won't happen. I think it's somewhat similar to when you try to find the right therapist for you. Not all clients are the same, not all therapists are the same. People are different. This is what makes life interesting. Next time, you or someone you know and or love is looking for a therapist, remember it's important to seek out the right therapist for you. Ask questions, who are they, how long have they been in business, and how much experience have they? Are they registered and certified? Do they have professional indemnity insurance? Do they engage in ongoing supervision, ongoing continued professional development? I know, lots of questions. Yet very important to protect you! Be Powerful.
