Session 67 - Why is it we do the things we don't want to do and vice versa?

from Global Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy Podcast

Why is it we do the things we don’t want to do and don’t do the things we want to do? Seems a bit of a dilemma and yet many people experience that reality for themselves. Perhaps it’s got to do with our beliefs and our beliefs are what motivates us. Combined with the pleasure principle. What brings us pleasure is highly appealing and we are drawn towards it. There is a pull forward. What brings us pain, usually demotivates us and there is a big push away from that which is painful.  I acknowledge there are exceptions to the rule, believe it or not. What you believe will happen, generally happens. You may be familiar with the expression: whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t – you are correct. What you believe usually turns out as you expected. Interestingly, our unconscious motivation provides the impetus to achieve what we expect and believe. To make real what we believe should be so. What are your beliefs and expectations? Are they serving you well? How do you start to change them?
