Inspired by a post by Jamie, The Balanced Nutritionist, about holiday eating, the ladies of Our Sleeved Life Podcast recorded this episode to help and encourage the community for the holidays. Spoiler: you can eat your favorites (unless, of course, you are newly post-op — in that case, follow your doctor’s guidelines). Kellie and Mel begin the episode by discussing hunger cues and how to know when your body has had enough food to be satiated. They also give tips for eating during the holidays, while at work functions, and visiting with friends and family. The rest of the episode is dedicated to the unwanted comments friends and family may make during holiday gatherings and the responses you can offer to create boundaries. Responses can gradually get more assertive as needed to shut down unwanted comments.
