Setting Micro Habits

from Inspiration2Grow · host Lisa Oberbichler, Personal Trainer, Pilates Instructor & Mindset Coach

In today’s episode Lisa talks about breaking down a new habit that you'd like to implement into mini, micro habits.  Establishing a new habit takes time and effort because we often fall back on our old patterns, old behaviours that keep us comfortable.  In order to successfully start and maintain a new habit in your life, Lisa recommends breaking down this habit into much smaller, micro steps and she explains how to based on her own personal experience. Notable Quotes: "The task of building a good habit is like cultivating a delicate flower one day at a time." "The task of breaking a bad habit is like uprooting a powerful oak within us." Both of these quotes were taken from James Clear, author of the amazing book "Atomic Habits" 3 Golden Nuggets from today's episode: 1.  We tend to fall back into our old, known patterns rather than forcing ourselves to get uncomfortable on a new path toward change in our lives. 2.  It is important to break down habits into minuscule parts attempting each part step by step gaining momentum as you move through creating a new habit. 3.  There's no excuse for not taking time to improve your health.  We all have the time; we simply don't prioritize wisely.
