Settling Down | Mindset Mastery with A.Z. Araujo

from Do The Work | Mindset Mastery

SETTLING | Mindset Mastery with AZ Araujo   It's crucial to not be afraid of the possibilities of creating more and to not be afraid of the responsibility that it takes to show up consistently. There is a constant pattern of settling or not going with your initial intentions, saying that you want big things, but when push comes to shove, you end up settling on something.   Settling is a way to be comfortable. Comfort brings about average decisions and doesn't seek the discipline it takes to continue to push the envelope. In fact, it's the complete opposite: there's no urgency, there's no need, there's no real push to continue to grow. Our indecision to not push the envelope is often based on the fears of what may occur, of all the ways things can go wrong, or what people will say. What if it doesn't work out? What if I make this big decision and it doesn't turn out the way I wanted it to? What we should be more afraid of is not living up to the best version of ourselves. What we should be more afraid of is holding back, because holding back doesn't build confidence, it erodes it.   Every time you make the decision to settle, you are building habits; it will either build your confidence or erode it. This constant cycle of holding back will reinforce that you don't trust yourself. It reinforces that your vision is really just a pipe dream. We're constantly losing the negotiation to the smaller version of ourselves, and it becomes a cycle of comfort and complacency.   Do not destroy the vision that you have of your future-self, based on who you are today. If there's a vision that's coming to you, don't tear it down. Don't settle. Don't make it harder on yourself. Figure out a way. Whether you thought it was a good move or a bad move in the short term, in the long term, it's always be the move you should have made.   QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER: Have you ever held back due to fear of the unknown or potential failure? Do you recognize a pattern of negotiating with the smaller version of yourself and settling for less? What steps can you take to build more confidence in your decision-making? How can you align your actions with the vision you have for your future self?   NOTABLE QUOTES: "Do not destroy the vision that you have of your future-self, based on who you are today." "We're constantly losing the negotiation to the smaller version of ourselves, and it becomes a cycle of comfort and complacency." "Comfort brings a lot of average decisions and doesn't seek discipline to push the envelope."   Follow A.Z. Araujo on Social Media: Instagram: @azaraujo Facebook: A.Z. Araujo TikTok: A.Z.
