Severe Weather

from Podcasts w/ Curtis Mack · host Curtis Mack

#NEWS – OAK RIDGE, NJ – Severe thunderstorms across northern New Jersey are causing power outages for some residents on Saturday, July 18, 2026. According to residents in Morris County, power has been intermittently going on and off throughout the day. Many New Jersey residents rely on backup generators during severe weather. If the power goes out, residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates using a battery-powered radio. Travelers should also use caution, as heavy rain and thunderstorms may create hazardous driving conditions this weekend. As of 12:00 p.m. on July 18, 2026, Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) reported scattered outages around the Lake Hopatcong area, with estimated restoration times of approximately 2:30 p.m. The utility also reported that more than 22,000 customers were without power in Sussex County and about 3,000 customers were affected in Morris County.
