Welcome to a new season of Applied! In this episode, we talk with Keri Canada about the diverse field of anthropology and how it can be used to better understand virtually every aspect of human life, from reproductive health behavior to the ancient art of brewing to the quirky subculture of cryptozoology.About our guest:Keri Canada teaches in CSU’s Department of Anthropology and Geography and also works as an academic support coordinator. Keri holds both B.A. and M.A. degrees in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton and has completed all coursework for a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Keri is primarily a medical anthropologist whose research has focused on human sexual and reproductive health behavior. She has previously been published as a columnist and book reviewer in anthropology journals. Keri currently teaches courses in Practicing Anthropology; Beer, Brewing, and Culture; and Anthropology of Sex and Reproduction. She will also instruct a new study abroad course in 2027 called: “Culture, History, Brewing.”
