Shabbat vs. Parents and the Holy Temple
from Breslov Therapy · host Meir Elkabas
In Parshat Kedoshim, the Torah places Shabbat alongside honoring parents and reverence for the Beit HaMikdash to teach a critical balance. While parents and the Temple represent the system of creation—light and vessels, building and doing—Shabbat represents the ultimate goal: direct connection to Hashem. Even the greatest acts of creation and service must not override that connection.Rebbe Nachman explains that a person can become so involved in mitzvot, learning, and spiritual activity that he forgets the purpose behind it all. Shabbat—and its daily parallel, hitbodedut (personal prayer)—restores that awareness. It reminds a person why he is here. The message is clear: engage fully in life and avodat Hashem, but never lose the inner connection. That connection is the essence of everything. This class is based on Likutey Moharan lesson 24For more on this lesson: linktr.ee/breslovtherapy_lesson_24If you have been inspired by this class/lecture please share it with your friends.
