Shae & Tianna - True Fitness, Partnership & Imposter Syndrome

from WomanUp - There's only one you · host WomanUp

In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview the lovely duo Shae & Tianna. Shae and Tianna are… both Kinesiology students at Vancouver Island University and certified personal trainers through the International Sports Sciences Association and are based out of Parksville, Canada. Their main goal for Vera is to create a space focused on the improvement of physical fitness, overall wellness and a healthier community! In our chat with Shae & Tianna… We get to chat about fitness, partnership and imposter syndrome. We start our conversation with the background story of each lady and how she got into fitness. We get to learn how their individual WHYs led into their collaboration and birth of VERA FITNESS in the middle of COVID. After many countless hours, they finally designed their business. While leading with compassion and staying true to themselves, their mission was born. The ladies explain how each client is different and they create a specialized program to support their needs and goals. There is no cookie cutter program system. We expand on the fact that people still, to this very day, are intimidated by gyms. Lack of confidence and the fear of being judged or compared to, blocks people from truly expressing themselves. Accountability is the key to success not only on your first steps into fitness but also in partnership. To have someone there to listen, support and most of all understand you. No one will ever understand you the way your partner will. Finally, we talk about the very common imposter syndrome. According to research 70-85% of the Harvard Students are suffering from imposter syndrome. You are not alone in this world. Someone is going through what you are. Someone is having the same thoughts as you are. Just know you are not alone. The girls share their experiences with imposter syndrome. All the thoughts that go through their heads and the exercises they put to practice to overcome it. “You don’t have to prove yourself to anyone”, Tianna says. Shae & Tianna are truly inspiring and a great example of our next generation. Filled with courage, compassion and the boldness to create a better world. Success to Tianna is: “Staying true to yourself.” Success to Shae is: “I know I am successful when I feel content.” Tianna’s message to women is: “Don’t wait! Sometimes it’s never the right time.” Shae’s message to women is: “You have all the capabilities to do what you want!.” To connect with Shae & Tianna, find them on the following platforms: IG: @verafitnesstraining Facebook: Vera Fitness Training Website: https://www.verafitnesstraining.com/
