Shaping the Next Gen of Fitness Pros

In this episode, the IDEA Pro Show catches up with Jan Schroeder, PhD, IDEA’s newly minted 2021 Fitness Leader of the Year. Dr. Schroeder is the chairperson of the Department of Kinesiology at California State University Long Beach. The Fitness Option at CSULB has gained international recognition for its unique curriculum, which Dr. Schroeder developed specifically to fit the needs of our dynamic industry. Today, we discuss the many ways she and her team are shaping and preparing the next generation of fitness pros.Jan has consulted for dozens of fitness professional organizations including IDEA, AFAA, ACE and ACSM. In addition, she develops curriculum for workshops and national certifying exams, writes articles, and conducts research projects as well as provides business counsel to these organizations.
