Holland, who teaches in the Department of American Studies at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Along with numerous articles and editing work, she is the author of Raising the Dead: Readings of Death and (Black) Subjectivity (2000), The Erotic Life of Racism (2012), and an other: a black feminist consideration of animal life (2023). As well, she is co-host of the podcast Dog Save The People. In this discussion, we explore questions of gender, animal life, and politics and how they open up new horizons in the field of Black Studies.
