Sharon grew up in what can only be described as a life of trauma. Her mother didn’t want her. Her father was distant. She grew up without love and filled with shame. She began drinking at thirteen to numb the feelings she couldn’t begin to describe. When she tried to kill herself at seventeen, a voice told her to try to hang in there because it couldn’t get worse. She listened to the voice, even when the memories of sexual abuse and ritual abuse came in. Sharon’s journey is rough, but also filled with her joy and love of God.
