At the age of 11 she started doing pageants and still continues to compete. After high school she moved to Texas to attended Kilgore Community College receiving her Associate in Fine Arts and attended the University of North Texas graduating with a Fashion Design degree.  Kayla and her husband live in Parker, Texas and have been married for seventeen years and have an eight year old boy. She currently is the owner of Capture the Crown Pageant Coaching, hair and makeup and has her own makeup line. Kayla also has worked her way up in Parklane Jewelry as Branch manager. You may spot her also in the Parklane look book and website as a model.  In 2018 Kayla was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double Mastectomy and went through chemotherapy.  Perfectly pink is her platform and she has been educating others on the importance of early detection for over 15 years telling her mothers story of a two-time breast cancer survivor. Now she educates others of the importance of early detection by telling her own story.  Mrs. Kayla Wharton is a multi-crowned pageant winner in Texas and Internationally currently holding the International United Ms. 2023-24 title, International United Ms. Texas 2022-23, IJM Ms. Texas 2019 on to win the IJM International Ms. 2019, Royal International Ms. Texas 2017 on to win the International title Royal International Ms. 2017, Mrs. Texas America 2012,  Mrs. Texas Galaxy International 2009.
