Shocking Truth: Fractured Society Means Overemployment in Dead End Gigs

from The SatsMate Stack · host Paul SatsMate

Hi SatsMate Stackers, I like to look at the life of a famous blue-collar cartoon as a representation of the normal economy back in day. Homer was a blue-collar worker, and was able to buy a nice home and support a 4 person family on this factory job. Now a days, this would be almost impossible to do in most places around the U.S. It just goes to show how far the economy has changed, and in the end people are starting to lean into more gig jobs, and taking several jobs because their main job doesn't pay enough. Specifically in this podcast, I go over the following topics: Discussion of the Simpsons, and Homer’s life ParallelMany young people work side hustles as they can make money on the sideYouth unemployment is soaring to above 15%, Mid twenties is around 8%People who have jobs, can’t find increased wages, many take on several jobsWhen not, they aim for several side hustles to keep upHamsters on a wheel, always working - never getting aheadNot enough time to parent, and grow our society from ground upThey need to work several jobs to keep head above water, not because they are getting rich off of itThis is the new form of slavery, work nonstop, earn small wagesLook at slavery in the 1800s vs todayWe need to return to the Homer Simpson America, where one blue collar salary can support an entire familyHomer now a days looks like an upper middle class person, in reality, America has fallen further from graceUnderemployment, Overemployment, and Gig slavery are not keys to a healthy and successful societyIf you like this, feel free to share it, leave a like, or comment.
