Shopping with Mom, Being Sick, and Talking Squirt into Helping Me Gut a Mule Deer with My Little Sister Ashli Telling Her Side of the StoryLocation: Mostly Utah, USAFall 1991ishOne of the things that I really do not like is shopping. As a child I would do everything I could to avoid going to the city and shopping. In this podcast I talk about some of the ways I would make it so people wouldn’t take me. I also talk about how I would fake sick to stay home but on one occasion I was actually sick and had a dilemma when a nice mule deer buck was grazing next to my rifle target at 100 yards when the muzzleloader season was on. I then had the problem of getting it back to the house and gutted but was extremely ill. My little sister Ashli was home with me that day. I talked her into helping me to her never-ending regret. I tell my version of the story and then invited her over to tell her version. The only real discrepancy is in Ashli’s version my mother comes home. My mother would like it to be known she was not a terrible mother. She worries people will think she wasn’t a good mother. Nothing could be farther from the truth! My mother was amazing and raised my siblings and I when my father was on cruise. I can’t imagine the difficulties military wives face raising kids, let alone a child such as myself. I am very thankful for the love and patience of my mother.
