So, There I Am...

This is Travis Jay Vernon and Welcome! to the So There I Am... Podcast. I have been spending time in the outdoors since I could walk. I started out catching frogs and insects, and then hunting with everything from a BB gun and archery gear, to chasing big game with a rifle. I have been an avid fisherman everywhere I have lived and traveled. Cooking, foraging, fishing, and hunting have been a driving force for me. The only thing I am more passionate about than these things is sharing them with others and teaching those who want to learn. Along the way I have told, heard, and lived different stories.Stories told well allow a listener to live vicariously, reminisce of past experiences, or even dream of adventures to come. I will be sharing stories with you from my own experiences as a fly-fishing guide, retail manager, outdoor enthusiast, traveler, explorer and just everyday life. There will be stories from guests and stories from friends and others in different locales and varied walk

57 Pranks at Work and Other Fun Stuff

Show Notes:57 – Pranks at Work and Other Fun StuffI love pranks and tend to do a lot of them on friends and family. One of my favorite targets is my friend “Wis”. I probably pick on him a little too much but it just shows how much I love him. He is a great guy and a good sport. In this episode I talk about some of the pranks I have pulled at work and with coworkers. I am fortunate that I work for a smaller company where such things are still sort of tolerated to a point. Many of the places I have worked in the past would have fired me and the staff for some of the pranks we have pulled so I am thankful I work in a place that still has a sense of humor. Thank you for letting me be a part of your listening and watching. If you are enjoying the stories and the podcast, I would really appreciate a 5 star review and please subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Thank you and go live your stories! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy  of Unicorn Heads and used with Permission:Sunshine on Sand; Performed by Unicorn HeadsSupport the show

56 Find the Adventures Wherever You Go – Off the Beaten Path

Show Notes:56 Find the Adventures Wherever You Go – Off the Beaten PathFrom my personal experiences I believe that everyone likes things for different reasons. Just because someone we know had a good experience at a restaurant or business or adventure doesn't mean you will. You may have the exact same experience and not enjoy it because of your personal tastes and preferences. Does it mean that it is a bad thing or just bad for you. Sometimes we go on adventures that don’t turn out the way we want but you can still find joy and fun in the little things. This podcast talks about some tips and tricks I like to use when traveling and I urge you to do the same. While I wish that they all lived close enough to spend more time with them, I do have 2 that live here in town with me. Kane is 4.5 years old and is my little partner in crime. 54 Be the Change, Find the Good, and Never Give Up Hope

Show Notes:Mistakes are made; Changes happen. Some lose hope, others push forward a sense of purpose. Be the change and the hope you want to see in the world. Do not let things beyond your control change the person you want to become. Find the joys in life and be happy where you are with what you have. I am not saying to be content if you don’t want to be, but avoid the thought that your happiness is dependent on others, things, or when “blank” happens. Here are some of the quotes from this podcast:"We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope." - Martin Luther King Jr. (attributed) "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." - Albert Einstein "But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.” — Martin Luther King, Jr.Norman Schwarzkopf was a Commander-in-Chief of the US Central Command during the Gulf War. He told a story about an early mentor of his, a general in the Army. There was a decision in regard to the politics of the war that had to be made. The importance of this decision was 10 years of history going back and forth with the pentagon to decide which direction the Army would take. This decision would affect the structure of the Army and there was a meeting of some of the highest-ranking officials. In this meeting there were stacks of documents and technical explanations on the probable outcomes of the two directions the Army was choosing between. In the meeting the general stated, “The answer is obvious, gentlemen”And he told them the way they would proceed.Afterwards, Schwarzkopf was confused. He knew there was no way that this general could have read or understood all the information. Schwarzkopf, who was a lower ranking officer at this time asked his mentor, “There is so much information here, there’s so much to consider, no one’s really going to know for sure. How the hell could you just make that decision like that?”The general replied, “This has been a decision that no one’s been willing to make for 10 years. The best minds have been on it and they can’t decide, so you know what? We need to pick one and do it. Decisions are power and I’m here to make them. That’s what I’m in this position for. That’s why I’m a leader.”Schwarzkopf asked, “What if your wrong?”The General replied, “If I’m wrong, we’ll find out quicker, and if I’m right the job will be done”Feel free to reach out when you have questions about my gear or items. 53 Go on Adventures and Fun Dates

Show Notes:I’ll never understand how the youth can have the same girlfriend or boyfriend for the entire time they are in school. I always used dating as a means to meet new people and learn what you like and dislike and to find a compatible person to marry. In today’s society, to go out on multiple dates each time with a different person, is not the norm. All the youth I interact with through the youth I teach in church to those I hire in the retail industry all think it is weird. They do however ask for dating ideas. This podcast gives you a couple. I think dating adventures and fun experiences should be normalized again. Meet more people and learn about yourself. Learn what excites you and find that perfect person to create your team and partner. This needs to continue when you are in a relationship or married. Remember it isn’t just for dating but to continue to do forever. Feel free to reach out when you have questions about my gear or items. I will be honest with a good, bad, or ugly review. 51 Teaching Youth and Critical Thinking to Form Your Own Opinions

Show Notes:51 Teaching Youth and Critical Thinking to Form Your Own OpinionsThe youth are still amazing, and I look forward to seeing what they are able to accomplish. As a Gen Xer I was able to live during a time of no internet and mass information, through the transition and I continue to live in this new world where everything is at our fingertips. Many lament the life of the children of today while I am excited. In this podcast I share my feelings about screen time for the youth and what I feel we have lost as a society. Some of the hardest lessons I have learned in life have been in the out of doors. Learning and using the internet and all the media we have is wonderful, but it still doesn’t replace spending time with the youth and children outside. I have been blessed in my life to teach many people in outdoor situations. 50 Embrace Chaos and Let People Help You!

Show Notes:I started to see a trend the last couple weeks while guiding this summer. Sometimes People are so intent on forcing the experience to happen a certain way that when it doesn’t, they feel like they have failed. Bad casts catch fish, not paying attention to the fly losses fish, not rolling with punches steals the joy. Embrace the chaos and enjoy the day. And when someone tries to help you, let them. If you don’t then you are denying the person, the ability to be helpful. But if you want to do things on your own, that is fine. Just be prepared for the consequences Feel free to reach out when you have questions about my gear or items. I will be honest with a good, bad, or ugly review. Again, my way isn’t the only way. 48 North Carolina 10 Year Anniversary Trip

Show Notes:Nancy and I just recently returned home from our 10th anniversary trip to North Carolina. We fished at some great places and had an amazing time visiting with friends and exploring a place we had not been to yet. We stayed in Maggie Valley near Asheville and had a wonderful time fly fishing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, some local waters, and the Cherokee Nation. We both caught our first Southern Appalachian brook trout. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend going out and fishing around Asheville! The guys at the Rivers Edge Outfitters shop got us all set up to fish around Cherokee. https://www.wncfishing.com/ The team at Tuckaseegee Fly Shop (Tuck Fly Shop) were also outstanding and gave Nancy and I all the info we needed. Remember to always buy stuff when getting information at fly shops. 47 Outdoor Boys and Not Selling Out. What does Selling Out Look Like? Promotions and Sponsorships and Guide Discounts

Show Notes:This past week one of the people I have admired in the YouTube realm decided to hang it up for a while perhaps forever. His departure was sad for me, but I understand why. Doing podcasts and YouTube videos is very time consuming and if you don’t have a LOT of followers and subscribers you pay for everything. I do this because I love it. I recently found out that if you add links to things like Amazon for products you use you can get a small commission if people buy the item. I added a couple to some of my most recent short videos. Not to get rich or to have people think I sold out, but to try and offset the costs of what I am trying to do. All I want you to get out of my videos and podcasts is entertainment and knowledge. I have said for a long time, my ways are not the only way and that if you are having fun you are doing it right. Rest assured I will never promote any product I don’t use. I get discounts on a lot of items and brands because of my retail job during the off season. I am also offered a variety of guide discounts through various companies. I take advantage of that when it is possible. My lifestyle and job is not inexpensive. To be able to do the hobbies I have costs money. I pay a lot for the monthly items for this podcast and my YouTube channel. I have yet to receive any compensation. I would love to get advertising compensation from the channels or even a small commission on things my followers buy but I will not sell out to rep brands or products that I do not have faith and believe in. Feel free to reach out when you have questions about my gear or items. I will be honest with a good, bad, or ugly review. Again, my way isn’t the only way. Lots of companies make great gear. I use what I like to use. I change if I think something is better. 46 Guiding a Late Season Muzzle Loader Elk Hunt

Show Notes:46 Guiding a Late Season Muzzle Loader Elk Hunt – A Great Way to End My 2024 SeasonWhat started out as a slow hunt turned out to be amazing in the end. We chased elk on a multiple of ranches. 2 guides and 2 hunters. The few elk we were able to find in their post rut recovery areas kept giving us the slip. After bouncing around and not getting a shot during the 5 day hunt my hunter opted to fly home and the other guide had to leave for a Colorado hunt. I offered to guide one more day since it was the last day of the season. I am glad I did! It was a much better way to end the 2024 guide season.

45 Learning to Cope with Life and Death – Raising Chickens and Guiding for Money

Show Notes:45 Learning to Cope with Life and Death – Raising Chickens and Guiding for MoneyLife and death are parts of life and not so much a beginning and an end to me. I have struggled a bit being a guide for big game. Taking money to help people kill has always caused reflection. There are right and wrong answers, and you may agree or disagree with what I do. When taking a life I feel sorrow. Sometimes I feel the sorrow more profoundly than others. I will attempt in this podcast to explain what I go through. The world in which I live in the United States has been for the most part removed from the death of animals. Many people are still very involved in the gathering of their own meat. Depending on how this is done can be difficult for people who have not had a lot of experience with death. I feel people would be much better off if they were more connected to nature and death. Predators are abundant and just doing what they do. Growing up I raised and hatched chickens. I had some difficult times as a kid having to put down injured birds and seeing the destruction of predators on animals I raised. I enjoy having clients who appreciate animals and the pursuit. I had an amazing experience with Mark during an archery elk hunt this past fall. It is stories like this that take clients into the realm of friends.

43 A Life of Art, Painting, Drawing, Woodworking, Decoys, Knife Making, Fly Tying, and More

Show Notes:43 A Life of Art, Painting, Drawing, Woodworking, Decoys, Knife Making, Fly Tying, and MoreLocations: Everywhere I have been and ongoing 1970’s to PresentFrom my youngest moments I have been an artist. My Grandpa Dean and Grandma Betty were both skilled oil painters. I began true art training with them. My love grew for charcoals and pencil art in high school, and I was blessed to be the visual art Sterling Scholar. This led me to courses in college I don’t think I would have taken otherwise but it changed how I view the world and spaces in it. I continued studying and practicing art on my own for many years before falling into decoy carving and learning to paint realistic color on a non-flat surface. The learning curve was harsh and now I have returned to flat art and color and oil painting because why not continue to learn and grow. Once again, I have found peace in my mind through an art and I love the creative process. I think I may jump into paining decoys with oils now just to see how I like it. I can always paint over it and start over if I want. Like Bob Ross says, “You can do anything you want in your world.” Art is my world…I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Thank you and go live your stories!Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy  of Unicorn Heads and used with Permission:Sunshine on Sand; Performed by Unicorn Heads Support the show

Show Notes:42 Growing Up, Hyper Focused, ADHD and Adventures – I am lucky my mother and wife are SaintsLocations: Everywhere I have been and ongoing 1970’s to PresentAs I grew up I would get hyper focused on things and about learning. I would put all of my attention into whatever task interested me and then after a while I would get burnt out on it. Then I would switch to my new hyper fixation. I always had crazy vivid dreams and as I have aged it has become problematic because I was constantly tired. I would wake up exhausted because I had been guiding in my dreams all night. I finally broke down and was diagnosed with ADHD and told to take a mild drug to help me focus. This has helped me a lot to be able to get good rest but at the same time has not changed who or what I am. I still have a crazy brain that is constantly moving 1000 miles an hour and taking in everything around me (sights/sounds/emotions) but has allowed me to focus just a little more. If you are interested in understanding ADHD more check out the videos and publications from Russell Barkley, PhD. It is great information and has helped me a lot.Funny how when you look back over your life it is easy to see why you did the things you did but thought you knew everything in the moment. He and many others in my life have had impacts in ways they probably don’t even know of. I was taught that regardless of the type of person you are around you can learn from them. Examples can be what to do or even what not to do, but one must keep their sights on goals and growth. I hope to be able to share some key points of continuing to grow in life by learning from others, the good, the bad, and the amazing. I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Thank you and go live your stories!Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum StickieSupport the show

    Rockhounding Adventures with Nancy

Show Notes 37:Rockhounding Adventures with NancyLocations: Wyoming and UtahThere are some amazing rocks and gems you can find in the outdoors. I grew up looking for fossils and rocks. Rockhounding has been a part of my life and I am lucky that my wife Nancy not only tolerates it but enjoys it with me. We have 2 rotary tumblers and a vibratory tumbler now and I am sure we will have more lapidary stuff to play with as we get older. It is just one more thing to look at the ground for and they make some beautiful conversation pieces. Since our trip to Scotland and Ireland was once again put on hold due to Covid and travel restrictions we decided to go on a week long rockhounding adventure. Make sure you visit your local rock shop and do your best to always get your supplies from local dealers when possible or online from small mom and pop shops when you can. Get out there and live your stories!!If you would like to book a fishing or hunting trip together, send me an email  [email protected] you are enjoying the stories and the podcast, I would really appreciate a 5 star review and please subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum Stickie  Support the show

    Fall 2021 Big Game Guiding

Show Notes 36:Fall 2021 Big Game GuidingLocations: Wyoming and UtahI have always been fascinated by big game. Elk and mule deer are a magnificent animals and superb table fare. I love teaching others and enjoy guiding people who appreciate the wilderness and the beauty of nature. I struggle from time to time when I am guiding about the type of people that I am with. I have been doing it long enough that most of the people I fish and hunt with are repeat customers, but I also take out some new people each year. You never know what you are going to get until you are out there. I have seen best friends fall apart when the going gets tough and I have seen people that are complete opposites find a bond through hunting and fishing. This year I had a couple firsts that are worth telling the stories of. There are days when nothing comes together, or you do not make good decisions and mess up your chance. Always remember that the worst hunt can become the best in just 5 seconds. Keep at it, stay positive, and sometimes everything comes together. The pursuit is exciting, the pack out and butchering is pure work, and the meals and memories are exquisite.

Show Notes 35:Another Hobby: Brazilian Paper Hot Air Balloons (If you do this be careful!)Locations: Utah and WisconsinI am weird about my hobbies; they have always been cyclical with me. I would do one and dive in feet first. I tend to buy all the stuff you need and then I get excited about the next one and dive in again. It has created a lifelong love of learning and exploring new things. In the mid 90’s (yup I am that old now), I was in Brazil on a church mission. We were teaching a great guy who was retired Federal Police. He taught us about making these paper balloons. It is illegal to do in Brazil because of the fire danger…so of course I jumped in. Looking for Treasure and Lost Spanish Gold with my Grandma Betty

Show Notes 34:Looking for Treasure and Lost Spanish Gold with my Grandma BettyLocations: UtahTreasure hunting has been something I have pursued my entire life. The hunt for lost gold and mines from the Spanish that were in Utah has been intriguing to me and I enjoy any reason to get into the woods and mountains. This is mainly a teaser. While I do discuss some topics and talk about spending time looking for gold with my Grandma Betty, I do not go into too much detail. If you would like more information, feel free to contact me.  When panning or looking for gold please follow all laws and respect others claims. DO NOT TRESPASS! You can recreationally pan for gold in many National Forests and BLM land. Many of the treasure stories you hear and read about are not true. They are embellished by the authors to get you to part with your own treasure for the story. I have a lot of hobbies and a few of them I am passionate about. When I was in college, my friend Jason Randolph introduced me to duck hunting over decoys with dogs and I have been forever thankful. I love ducks, dogs, and decoys. I soon began a collection of decoys for my own decoy spread and then began trying to make my own birds. Show Notes 30:Road Trip to Oregon for Clamming, Crabbing, and FishingLocations: Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and WyomingWOW! Our world is crazy, but you do not have to be. Nancy and I decided after our trip to the UK was cancelled due to COVID-19, to travel to Oregon and go crabbing and clamming. We stayed at a crazy fun hotel in Crescent, Oregon called the Crescent Moon Motel. We got the glitter room, and the owner was super fun. We had a great Air BNB in Coos Bay, OR (Hollywood by the Bay). Great hosts and a super fun little spot. It is a bed, shower, and living space. Think kitchenette without the kitchen. There is a kitchen sink, microwave, and stuff but no stove. We took our Camp Chef and cooked outside. It was a great trip! We fished, clammed, and went crabbing in Coos Bay. For great gear and bait and local knowledge hit up the folks at The Bite’s On Bait and Tackle. Below is a link to their Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/thebiteson/ Nancy caught a great silver salmon, and we came home with a bunch of crab. Since coming home we have had some great meals with our families. Show Notes:How I Started Guiding           Locations: Northern UtahBeing a fly fishing guide was something that I didn’t try to do, it just sort of happened. I talked with the right person at the right time and had put in my time on the water to become proficient. When it came to teaching, well, I just love teaching. The hardest part of guiding for me was learning how to read people and providing them with the type of trip that they were after. In the beginning I would try to divine what that was. Shopping with Mom, Being Sick, and Talking Squirt into Helping Me Gut a Mule Deer with My Little Sister Ashli Telling Her Side of the StoryLocation: Mostly Utah, USAFall 1991ishOne of the things that I really do not like is shopping. As a child I would do everything I could to avoid going to the city and shopping. In this podcast I talk about some of the ways I would make it so people wouldn’t take me. I also talk about how I would fake sick to stay home but on one occasion I was actually sick and had a dilemma when a nice mule deer buck was grazing next to my rifle target at 100 yards when the muzzleloader season was on. I then had the problem of getting it back to the house and gutted but was extremely ill. My little sister Ashli was home with me that day. I talked her into helping me to her never-ending regret. I tell my version of the story and then invited her over to tell her version. The only real discrepancy is in Ashli’s version my mother comes home. My mother would like it to be known she was not a terrible mother. She worries people will think she wasn’t a good mother. Nothing could be farther from the truth! My mother was amazing and raised my siblings and I when my father was on cruise. I can’t imagine the difficulties military wives face raising kids, let alone a child such as myself. I am very thankful for the love and patience of my mother. Black Hills, Turkeys, Oreos, and Hunting with Nancy

Black Hills, Turkeys, Oreos, and Hunting with NancyLocation: Black Hills, South Dakota, USASpring 2016Nancy worked very hard for her first turkey. We had some amazing meals with our friends Nick and Seth from MN and SD respectively. We hunted hard and did what we needed to in order to put Nancy on her first turkey. Following her bird, we chase mine and finish 4 for 4 in our group for SD Black Hills turkeys. I love this area and look forward to hunting here every chance I get. Nancy did everything she could to mess up my hunt lol but my perseverance paid off. As always it was fun and I hope that you can enjoy the adventure along with me.   For those who are interested, you can get your turkey tags through the Game & Fish in most states. Some have over-the-counter (OTC) options but many are by lottery draw only. Visit your local Game and Fish web site for opportunities near you. If you have never been hunting and would like to, first step is to get your Hunter Safety Course finished up. Some states offer a Mentorship as a possibility. Another great option is to contact the First Hunt Foundation.   It is a great organization that is to help those interested in learning to hunt. I also highly recommend Volume 1 & 2 of The Complete Guide to Hunting, Butchering, and Cooking Wild Game books by Steven Rinella. Another outstanding resource is Hank Shaw and his books as well as Hunt Angler Gardener Cook group on Facebook. If you are enjoying the stories and the podcast, I would really appreciate a 5 star review and please subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum StickieSupport the show

From checking off all the cutthroat species in the Western United States, to catching as many state fish as possible, to visiting a new country, or seeing something new, I love having new experiences. My wife learned quickly that regardless of where we go, I am going to try and fish and explore. I have done it my whole life and don’t plan on slowing down. I hope this podcast inspires you to go try something new or start planning to check something off of your own bucket list. Life is short and we don’t have time to do it all, so go get started and Live Your Stories!!If you are enjoying the stories and the podcast, I would really appreciate a 5 star review and please subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum StickieSupport the show

    Old Wives Tales

Show Notes:Old Wives’ Tales              Locations: Utah, Wyoming, Brazil, Florida, and Everywhere ElseOld Wives’ Tales, you have all heard them. Some you may even believe and some you pass on. In today’s podcast we discuss some of the most common I have dealt with while fishing and just spending time in the out of doors. They include eating whitefish, suckers, and pike to antelope or mixing choke cherries or mangos with milk. Some have a rich history while others are just personal bias passed onto others without any facts behind it. If you are enjoying the stories and the podcast, I would really appreciate a 5 star review and please subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. Go live your stories!I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum StickieSupport the show

My Father's Hands and My Little Girl Cassi

Show Notes:My Father’s Hands and My Little Girl CassiLocations: Utah You only get a few amazing dogs in this life and Cassi was one of mine. She taught me a lot and was a great retriever and friend. I miss her still. I have a hard time talking about Cassi and how I lost her so I hope you forgive me for reading the story I wrote called, My Father’s Hands. I would not have been able to talk coherently if I didn’t force myself to read this story. There isn’t much more to tell you than that. This is a good story, but it is sad and discusses the death of a dog. It is also reassuring and tells of the love of a Father. Thank you for understanding, and go live your stories!I would love to connect with you all at Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube! Original episode artwork created by Scott Simkins.Music Courtesy of Plum Stickie and used with Permission:Audley Crazy; Written by Plum Stickie; Performed by Plum StickieSupport the show

Fishing, Floating Logs, and Pterodactyls with Kids

Show Notes:Fishing, Floating Logs, and Pterodactyls with KidsLocations: Utah and SW Wyoming1997 to the PresentFishing with children are some of the best days on the water. They may lose interest quickly if the fishing slows down but there are always a lot of activities you can do. The youth see the world in such a different way that adults do. Their insights of nature are amazing and so are some of the fun stories I have had while guiding. I have a full-time job now days, so I only guide on my days off. My days off book up quickly during peak season, but there is always a chance we can get out on the water to chase trout. If you are looking to book a trip hit up Jans in Park City, UT. I always recommend full day trips because they give us more options of places to go and see. If something truly bizarre happens maybe you will make it on the next podcast! Hope you enjoy these stories from being on the water. There are more to come and as always  I hope that you can envision the stories along with me.

Rope Swings, Parachutes, Sumo Wrestling, and Grover

Show Notes:Rope Swings, Parachutes, Sumo Wrestling, and Grover Locations: Japan, Utah, CaliforniaEarly 1980’sMy brother Jared stops by to chat about some stories when we were growing up. We talk about playing on the rope swing at my grandparents’ house and playing a game of strength with a surplus parachute in the wind. I am reminded of our Sumo Wrestling matches in Japan as well as the toy Grover doll that we are both pretty sure is possessed of evil and talking my mother into helping shoot water balloons from the garage. Much of what we did wasn’t thought out very well, but we didn’t die, so we have that going for us. ABOUT THIS SHOW
