from the c-suite podcast · host the c-suite podcast

Russell Goldsmith and Brendon Craigie were joined online by Greg Jackson, Chief Executive of Octopus Energy. This is the fifth episode in our special series being produced in partnership with the European PR agency Tyto and their own ‘Without Borders’ podcast, where we are interviewing leaders of companies that have reached, or are close to reaching, Unicorn status, to find out about the key issues, pain points and challenges that startups face and how they can address them with a strategic approach to marketing and communications. As we continue to record these through lockdown, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we also look at how companies are adapting to working through the Covid-19 crisis. Greg founded Octopus Energy in 2015. Its domestic energy arm already serves over 1.5 million customers with Octopus Energy for Business managing over 12,000 customers. The group includes Octopus Electric Vehicles and Octopus Energy Services. Its tech arm, Kraken Technologies, offers a proprietary, in-house platform based on advanced data and machine learning capabilities, which automates much of the energy supply chain. The group reached unicorn status in April 2020 following an investment from Australian energy company Origin Energy. Greg is an experienced digital entrepreneur, passionate about making the green energy revolution affordable through technology.
