Signs of the Swarm: Bobby Crow Talks Touring, New Album, and the Future of DeathcoreOn The Zach Moonshine Show, Bobby Crow of Signs of the Swarm gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band’s rise, their upcoming album To Rid Myself of Truth, and why the deathcore scene is stronger than ever.🎙️ “We’re just here to make fun heavy music and have a good time,” Bobby said. “There’s a little something for just about everybody if you like heavy [ __ ]!”With a highly anticipated Century Media Records release dropping August 22nd, the band is charging into their next chapter full-force. “We’ve got tours booked out to the end of the year,” he shared, listing an album release tour with Mental Cruelty, Carcosa, Face Yourself, and more. A special Pittsburgh Halloween hometown show will also feature the return of Belie My Burial after a 10-year hiatus.🧠 On the creative side, the new record mixes punishing heaviness with personal reflection. “A Cloud of Retinas,” for example, deals with frontman David’s degenerative eye condition. “He’s opening up more than ever,” Bobby explained. “It’s a battle between telling your own truth and keeping it relatable.”🎤 Cameos include Will Ramos (Lorna Shore), Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel), Jack from 156/Silence, and Johnny Crowder (Prison). “It’s all people we know personally,” Bobby emphasized. “We wrote the tracks with them in mind. It wasn’t just pulling names for clout—it came together organically.”The band also experiments sonically, with Bobby detailing how they sample everyday sounds like slamming car trunks, squeaky drum stools, and even basement junk to create thunderous, unique effects. “We try to find random stuff just to make ear candy. Some of it is hilarious, but it ends up sounding heavy as hell.”On the band’s genre-blending appeal, Bobby said: “We all listen to different stuff, and we don’t want to be boxed in. It’s gotta be heavy—but also catchy and fun.”📼 Their cinematic music videos continue to impress, thanks to the vision of vocalist Dave and longtime video collaborator Eric DiCarlo. “We’ve built a little family of people who know what we want,” Bobby said.When asked about coming to Tennessee for the Metal Devastation Music Fest, Bobby didn’t hesitate: “Dude, yes.
