It was during this time that I committed myself to the practice of kirtan and the path of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of service and devotion to God. I also received the rare chance to be in close proximity to a man who truly lives from the heart. Whether he was lecturing on stage, at the dinner table with friends or alone in his room, Ram Dass rested in and acted from a place of love. Sitaram Dass spent many years serving and living with Ram Dass. He has a graduate degree in social work and now finds himself singing, teaching, counseling, writing, and serving in a wide variety of settings ranging from yoga studios, music festivals, and retreat centers to homeless shelters, mental health centers, hospice clinics, and prisons.
