Someone's rushing at you with a knife.  What do you do?  If you answered "shoot the knife out of his hand", get out.  Not that there's really any right answer to this question.  It's a bad situation no matter what you do.  Kind of like American politics as a whole.  And also the movie industry.  TV's doing great though.  That's one of those silver linings.
