Six Years After COVID-19: The Grief We’re Still Carrying
from Inner Alchemy with Ashley Logan · host Ashley Logan
It’s been six years since the COVID-19 pandemic and so much of what we lived through was never truly acknowledged. There was no collective moment to pause, to grieve, or to reflect on what that time asked of us—and I believe we would be in a much different place as a human collective if we had a national day of grief. But I digress. In this solo episode, I share my own experience navigating the early days of the pandemic while seven months pregnant, running a 30-person marketing agency, and trying to make impossible decisions for my family, my team, and my community. This episode is not really about policy or politics. It is about grief. Because unprocessed grief does not disappear. It lives in our bodies until we give it space to move. This episode is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and offer yourself the compassion you may not have had time to feel when it all happened and to remember:The birthdays we celebrated through car windows. The funerals we attended via Zoom. The isolation, fear, and uncertainty that lived in our bodies for years. Most of all, it is an invitation to acknowledge what we carried during that time and to recognize that every person was doing the best they could with the information they had—and bear witness to the collective grief we carry.
