And welcome to a new episode of Unlock Your Serbian with Jelena and Nevena. That's right, welcome to another episode of our podcast and today we are talking about education. We want to talk about what the school system in Serbia looks like, from elementary school or even maybe from kindergarten all the way to university. This is a topic that is no longer important to us. Thank God. We are no longer in the Serbian educational system. But this is truly interesting because in every country I know of, education looks different; there are some nuances, variations, etc. And that is the reason why we want to talk about this topic today. And you mentioned that we can start from before elementary school. What levels exist in education that is not mandatory? So, we will talk about the parts of schooling that are not compulsory, and nothing before elementary school is compulsory. That's right, nothing before elementary school is mandatory and I remember when I was little—and I actually don't know how it's possible that I remember this—but I remember asking my parents to go to kindergarten, so to enroll me in kindergarten. Because I didn't want to be at my grandparents' house every day anymore.Become a member on Patreon (patreon.com/UnlockYourSerbian) to continue reading the transcript!Send us your questions!
