Episode 20 - Slowing Down To Speed Up with Jill and Jessica Emich What if trying to move faster was ultimately causing you to feel rushed and panicked and you really weren't showing up as your best self? Often when we slow down we are more able to really access the knowledge base that aids us in doing our best thinking, which ultimately will lead to better decision making. Jill and Jessica Emich are the founders of SHINE Living Community which expands beyond the four walls of their restaurants and their beverage company to reach a global community through events, classes, education and lifestyle. Together in community, they empower every area of our lives. Their offerings represent their 25-year mission and experience to bring nourishment from the inside out through dance, yoga, meditation, breathwork, cooking how-tos, holistic nutrition, and shine lifestyle tools and techniques for the whole family. Key Moments: What inspired Jill and Jessica to go down the road of opening their first Shine Restaurant How having a disabled brother also affected the ladies's outlook on the world and undoubtedly helped shape their trajectory Why they decided to change their business model from restaurants to more of a community wellness model What exactly is the Shine Living Community and what does it all entail? Why they feel like it's important to teach the children about their emotional body How a mantra can help slow you down and give your overactive thoughts something to do Why slowing down can help you move things along faster How to breathe into your divinity Favorite Quote: "I think that slowing down really helps speed up the process, because you're thinking more clearly and you're making the right decisions." CONNECT WITH JILL AND JESSICA: We were born into this lifetime as triplet sisters … back when triplets were a very rare phenomenon. It is this relationship that taught us about what sisterhood means. All our lives, we were naturally compared to each other by both ourselves and others. As young ones, we were dressed the same, in the same classes, and many people had a very hard time telling us apart. We too had challenges about what was our own and what was our sister's. It makes for a unique existence. It created curiosity at a young age to discover who we are as individuals and also the roles we play as part of the whole. We have discovered that when we stand tall in our own being instead of playing small or hiding behind one another, our true essence is right there, just waiting to be heard. It is from this place that we found the courage to open our first business at 24 years of age. ShineLivingCommunity.com Connect with Jeanne: The first important thought I remember having was that "Anything Is Possible". My parents moving me and my nine siblings from California to Australia might have had something to do with this. I believe anything is possible and that people have the genius within them to find and live in their Genius Zone... their Ultimate Potential without burnout and without burning those who surround them.
