SLP 574: Embracing Change and Ceremony with Bianca Caruana

from Self Love Podcast · host The Wellness Couch

In this heartfelt episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim sits down with ceremonial guide and founder of the Goddess Temple Brisbane, Bianca Caruana, to explore the sacred nature of life’s transitions and the powerful role ceremony can play in helping women navigate them with grace and self-compassion. Bianca shares her journey from a corporate career to holding space for women through rites of passage offering insight into how honouring these thresholds can deepen connection to self, community, and ancestral wisdom. Together, Kim and Bianca reflect on the beauty and challenge of change, discussing how life’s darker seasons can become fertile ground for growth when met with compassion rather than resistance. Bianca speaks candidly about her own path of healing and the practices that helped her reconnect with self-love, including ritual, ceremony, and simple acts of kindness toward herself. The conversation weaves through themes of feminine cycles, spiritual exploration, and the importance of remembering our connection to nature and the rhythms that guide our lives. They also explore the transformative power of gathering in circle, with Bianca sharing guidance for women who feel called to create safe, supportive spaces for connection and storytelling in their own communities. This soulful conversation is an invitation to honour life’s transitions, trust the wisdom within our challenges, and reclaim the sacredness of the feminine journey About Bianca Bianca Caruana is a ceremonial guide and author whose work explores identity, rites of passage and the transitions we are rarely taught how to navigate. After experiencing anxiety and a deep sense of misalignment in corporate life, Bianca stepped away from her career and spent several years travelling in search of a more meaningful and connected way of living. That journey led her back to herself and shaped the work she now shares with others. Today, she is the founder of The Goddess Temple Brisbane, a community space where she supports women through life’s transitions with greater awareness and connection. Through gatherings such as women’s circles, Red Tent circles and grief ceremonies, she creates spaces for women to reconnect with themselves and navigate change in a more supported and meaningful way. Her definition of Self Love is: For me, self-love is allowing yourself to be you in your truest form as you are. No judgement and honouring yourself where you are at and knowing that you have done the best you can. Her favourite quote is from: Jaiya John from the Poem Daughter Drink This Water This world can erode girls strip away their foundation of self-love. The act is gradual, can be inviting. One day you naturally feed yourself what feels good to your soul. Another day you find yourself as a woman so far out to sea, you cannot see your soul. To be well as a woman is to choose continuous resistance to this subtle erosion, persistence, whole keeping, many want to break you down, fraction you up, tear you into parts, stay whole, surround yourself with wholeness and whole keepers. Make your freedom sing. You are everything. I feel like I have been many women in this life. I am really passionate about holding people and guiding people through life thresholds. Our identities can change by choice and they can also change just by something naturally or an impactful life event. A lot of that identity, it didn’t come so much from who I wanted to be from the inside out. It came from who I was expected to be from the outside in. I became so deeply interested in the concept of death and rebirth, not so much as a finality, but as a continual event that happens throughout our life, which deeply relates to the feminine. We know cycle, we know death, we know cycle every single month. We know cycle throughout our whole lives. Seeds grow in the dark. The sun will come eventually. There is a synergy that comes from a shared intent. We fear change because we don’t necessarily want to have the go through the challenging times. Healing is your capacity to hold the pain. The pain in the darkness is here. Let’s just watch it and allow it to flow through. Life happens for us. I have always believed in the magic of life. I am a soul on a long journey. We have guidance from those that have come before us. Anxiety is your body saying, excuse me, something feels unaligned. Depression is translated to deep rest. Be like the tree. Let’s honour what we were and bring forth who we will become. Self-love is turning that loving kindness inwards. Sometimes for many of us, sharing our challenge is the process of healing it. We need spaces where there is absolutely no judgement in the room. Little by little it starts to unravel the masks so that you can feel safe and comfortable to be as you are.   SELF LOVE PODCAST SPONSOR LINKS THANKYOU FOR LISTENING… If you would like to share your feedback on this podcast please head to my Facebook and Instagram pages below.
