Frantz Pierrot was the Galway United hero as they secured a first victory over Derry City in two years on Friday evening (3rd April 2026) at Eamonn Deacy Park in the SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division. David Hurley struck a 16th minute opener to give the hosts a 1-0 interval lead before James Clarke equalised.  But just two minutes after being introduced, Pierrot grabbed the winner moving United up to sixth, just five points outside the top three.
