We return to our Practicing the Way teaching series and this week we are covering the practice of Solitude.God often chooses to meet his people in the wilderness.Genesis 3; Genesis 28, 1 Kings 19 and Matthew 4Mark 6 v30-32Jesus modelled the example to us of living on the extremes of solitude on the one hand and community on the other. However, we tend to live our lives in between the two in a place of personal pampering or polite proximity.However, as Psalm 46v10 teaches us it is only when we settle our hearts that all the sediment in our lives sinks to the bottom and we can see clearly.Let's make time to be still and shut out all the distraction and noise and meet with God.
