Somatic Eating® Meditation to Create Pre and Post Meal Body Regulation and Safety

from Satiated Podcast · host Stephanie Mara Fox

Happy Satiated Saturday! I remember the first time I had a mindful eating experience. I was in an all day meditation class and we did the raisin exercise. This is a practice of taking a single raisin and feeling it in your fingers, smelling it, putting it up to your ear, and listening to it crinkle before eating it to bring in all of your senses. Then, very slowly eating the raisin to actually taste it, as this is a food that is typically consumed in mindless handfuls. Over the years, I've explored this exercise in various different ways and adding in somatic approaches. This is such a powerful practice that I wanted to offer to you.In this week’s episode, I walk you through a Somatic Eating® Meditation that you can practice at your next meal. Even if you're not eating right now, you can listen through this to get your body familiar with what you might try out at your next meal. You can also read the transcript to this week’s episode here: https://www.stephaniemara.com/blog/somatic-eating-meditationIf you want more practice with this, I'm offering everyone on my newsletter 30% off my newest offering the Somatic Eating® Intensive.
