Some Truly Good News

Have you ever had that experience of carrying a deep, dark secret around in your heart – something you did that was just so wrong that no one else knows about? It burdens you, it crushes you.  Yep, I've been there too. That crushing burden comes from the fact that we know that ultimately actions have consequences; eventually it'll come out; eventually we'll have to pay the price. That's something we've been chatting about rather a lot together over this past week. So let's finish things off then with some good news; news that'll lift that burden right off your shoulders. 1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done. Many today dismiss this whole notion of "sin". But God takes it so seriously that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on a cross to pay the price that we know our sin deserves. And when we get real with God, when we confess our sins, listen – He will forgive you. You can trust Him to do that because He always does what's right. He will make you clean from all the wrong things you've done. Friend, that forgiveness is available to you, right here, right now. Confess it all to God, believe that Jesus died for you and the peace of God will fill you to overflowing. That's good news. Because that's His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
