El 31 de diciembre recordamos el 121 aniversario del nacimiento del compositor mexicano Silvestre Revueltas. Inmortalizado por obras como La noche de los mayas, Sensemayá, Janitzio y Redes, es considerado uno de los músicos mexicanos más originales del siglo XX que dio identidad al paisaje sonoro mexicano. El 28 de diciembre del pasado 2020 falleció otro músico mexicano, el cantautor Armando Manzanero a los 85 años víctima de covid-19. Más de 400 canciones escribió este querido músico, cuyas letras han sido cantadas por generaciones a lo largo de siete décadas de trayectoria musical. Hoy escucharemos de Silvestre Revueltas la obra Ocho por Radio para orquesta de cámara, interpretada por la Filarmónica de Los Angeles dirigida por Esa- Pekka Salonen. Acto seguido, la canción Adoro de Armando Manzanero interpretado por este compositor, quien la canta en lengua maya junto a Plácido Domingo en el Concierto de las Mil Columnas realizado en Chichén Itza el 4 de octubre de 2008.
