Spandex. Suits. Sweatpants.

from Mi Duole Cycling Podcast

David was born in San Diego CA in March 1977.  He grew up in Southern California, riding motorcycles and playing sports – basketball, football, and he especially loved swimming. I guess this guy’s love for tight spandex-y clothes dates back to childhood.  Fun fact: he has attended most of the Utah schools – BYU, Utah State, UVSC, and the U of U. He lived in England for 2 years as an LDS missionary, which he loved. He graduated from the U, got his MBA at Loyola Marymount, and then got a masters in banking at University of Washington.  We met in Provo and got married in 1999, and early in our marriage I suggested that we get bikes to have something fun and active to do together. He laughed and said “the only bikes I ride go like this (revs his right hand, like a motorcycle.)” My how things change!   We have 4 kids, ages 10-20 years old. David likes skiing and hiking, eating at restaurants and going to the movies, and tending to his newly acquired beehive. He’s on the boards of like a million different organizations, one of which is the U’s “Utah Presents” which focuses on bringing diversity to Utah through performing arts.  He’s a great dad and husband, and cycling has brought him so much happiness over the last decade. Oh and he hates deer.
