Speaking on Business: Ability Inclusion Services

from Salt Lake Chamber · host Salt Lake Chamber

This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Ability Inclusion Services, previously known as The Work Activity Center, has grown into one of Utah’s most vibrant disability communities, offering essential resources, meaningful programs, and unwavering support for individuals with disabilities and their families. Executive Director and Operations Manager, Kristen Floyd, joins us with more. Kristen Floyd: At Ability Inclusion Services, we’re passionate about helping individuals with disabilities live independently, grow personally, and engage fully in their communities. In 2024, we rebranded with a fresh name and enhanced programs to better reflect our mission of inclusion and empowerment. Our services include life skills training, social engagement, and community-based activities that foster independence and meaningful connections. One of our most exciting developments is our new apartment complex, providing safe, affordable, and supportive housing for those we serve. We also launched a private scholarship program to help individuals without state funding access essential services. By expanding opportunities and removing financial barriers, we’re making it possible for more people to thrive. Everything we do is focused on ability. Our team works every day to create a more inclusive world where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential. Derek Miller: Ability Inclusion Services continues to turn its vision into reality by expanding inclusive housing, enhancing life-enriching programs and breaking down barriers to accessibility.
