Speaking on Business: Megaplex Corporate

from Salt Lake Chamber · host Salt Lake Chamber

This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. From blockbuster films to new entertainment experiences, Megaplex is giving Utahns more reasons than ever to head to the movies. Megaplex President Britten Maughan joins us with more on this year's big-screen lineup and the company's new cinema entertainment center in Downtown Daybreak. Britten Maughan: At Megaplex, we believe movies are at their best when they bring people together. And 2026 is giving audiences plenty to look forward to — Young Washington, Minions, Toy Story 5, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are currently playing in theaters. Later this year we get The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Avengers Doomsday and Dune Part 3 to close the year out strong. We’re especially excited about Megaplex at Downtown Daybreak, our first cinema entertainment center, which opened in July of 2025 as part of the growing sports and entertainment district in Downtown Daybreak. It features premium large format auditoriums with in-seat dining, interactive bowling with laneside dining, a scratch kitchen, games and private event space. Earlier this year, it was recognized with the International Cinema Technology Association’s 2025 Best New Build award. Whether guests join us for a blockbuster, a family night out or a celebration with friends, we’re proud to create larger-than-life experiences and memories that last a lifetime. Derek Miller: With new films hitting the big screen and new experiences opening their doors, Megaplex is helping create memorable moments for moviegoers across Utah.
