I'm preparing for a gun about my field cause I'm looking for a harvest for my God, He's real. Welcome back once again to Spiritual Impact. I'm Steve Rose and I'm here with my pastor Tim Parton and you're at a place right now where we're family. You're here joining us and just again we want it to be like you're sitting around our kitchen table and we're talking about the Word of God cause there's nothing like the Word of God cause the Word of God is forever settled in heaven and the Word of God is what sets us free.
You know we have a say in the church we're family come and grow with us and I feel like that on the program cause we got a lot of regular viewers we've been doing this for a little while now and been getting a lot of good feedback and we appreciate that so much. Appreciate the prayers, appreciate the financial support. We're all just part of the family of God and we're so happy that you're being blessed by the program and it encourages us and we pass along with the folks here at the studio cause they do a lot of work. I mean we simply show up and be prepared to teach on the Word but they gotta do the filming, they gotta do the editing.
There's a lot of work going into doing a program and you pray for the folks here at WVLR some fine, fine folks. Pastor Steve, this is an old song and I guess if the audience knows the thing just sing along, it'll remind me dear Lord. So remind me, my dear Lord, the things that I love and hold dear to my heart. They're just more, they're not mine at all.
Jesus only let me use them to brighten my life. So remind me, remind me dear Lord, roll back the curtains of memory now in them. Show me where you've brought me from where I could have been here. I'm human and humans forget.
So remind me, remind me dear Lord. Yes, remind me, remind me dear Lord. Amen. See, praise God.
It's good, you know, they used to set up the old landmarks. And again, it wasn't to be chained to, but to remind us where God has brought us from. Amen. Thank you Lord.
We want to go to the ninth chapter of Mark today. And I'm going to read verse 41. And if you have any Bible, I want to read along with us. Says, for who so ever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name because ye belong to Christ.
Verily I say unto you, you shall not lose his reward. Pastor Steve, we want to talk a few moments on God remembers. And I'm so glad that we serve a God that he knows where we're at, he knows who we are. He knows everything about us, but one great thing that he doesn't choose to remember is our sin.
We're forgiven. He places those in the sea of forgetfulness as far as the east is from the west. Now, we want to talk about God remembers the things that we do for him. God remembers that when we honor him with our life, when we honor him with our service.
And Pastor Steve, it's not that we're earning any special points or anything like that because we are his children, but we are also to serve him. And we do it gladly. We don't do it out of a sense of, well, I've got to. We should be happy.
Just like I don't go to church because I got to. I go to church because I get to. I don't worship God for no other reason than I want to. I love him.
Amen. I choose to worship him. You can go any path in life that you want to because God gives us free will choice. But if we're going to serve him, if we're going to be obedient to things he's called us to do, then we're going to have to do things from a joyful heart.
But when we do these things, Pastor Steve, God never forgets. He talks about that even when we simply give someone a cold cup of water because it's the right thing to do. It's in Jesus name that we won't lose our reward. What is our reward?
It's the goodness, the good things of God, the things that he has promised. He's going to always work in our life to give us the Bible says that he daily loads us with benefits. You think about that. We serve a God that his desire for your life, for my life, for Pastor Steve's life is to simply pour more upon you than you can possibly handle.
We study so many times about when the five fish and the two loaves of bread, the four loaves of bread there, the 4,000 people, 5,000, 4,000 people. In all of it, they were fragments left out. We serve God that truly wants to bless. He's making a way and a provision that will be long lasting for us.
We have to learn how to be good stewards of God. But God remembers that when we serve him and we do the right thing, not only because it's what's required, but it's what's in our heart. That's the big thing right there when you're talking about the things God remembers. It truly remembers the things done with the right heart.
Because when Jesus came and talked to the Pharisees, the Pharisees always looked at on the outside. That's what they wanted to do was to please people with their appearance and he'd say, listen, yeah, on the outside you look like a sepicre. He said on the outside you're white, but he said on the inside you're full of dead men's bones. And see, that's right.
When you're talking about it, the Bible says when we do things it's not out of compulsion. We don't go there because we're forced to do it. We go there because we want to do that. That's the right heart.
And when we give that cup of cold water, it's not going to say, I'm not going to hear it going, look, I'm giving that cup of cold water in Jesus. And what you're actually doing, you're doing it because that's what Jesus wants you to do. Not for any praise from man, because it's the right thing to do. And that's the heart that you're moving with.
That's why you're doing it. It's because of faith in Christ. When your actions are centered on, for the appearance of man, Jesus said you have your reward. That's right.
I would rather do things in secret. And he said that he would reward us openly. It doesn't matter. You could give away a million dollars.
And if it's not done with the right motives, it didn't amount to anything as far as the kingdom's concerned. Things have to be done with the right motive. We're required to love one another. The Bible says that's how that we know that we've passed from death under life.
Why? Because we love the brethren. And sometimes that's not an easy thing to do because the flesh, if the flesh feels wrong, we want to hold grudges and things like that. But we got to pray for one another.
Some things in life are so trivial and we allow them to dictate and just sap all the joy out of our life. We can name people that just allow things that just zapped and made them bitter. But I choose, you know, to be happy. It's a choice, it's a choice.
I choose to be happy because, you know what, I found that it's a whole lot better to be happy than it is to be miserable. We've all tried miserable. I didn't like it. And when you're talking about that heart again, when we're talking about this today, you're really talking about an issue of the heart.
That's the inner man. And when you're talking about that million dollars, you can give a million dollars. But again, if it's not given with the right spirit and the right heart, it reminds me of Jesus. You remember when he said he stood and watched them giving the tributes and what they do, they go in and said they had a thing short look ahead of a tube and they throw their offerings into it.
And everybody could see who was throwing it in. And then there was a lady come up with two mites and threw it in. And Jesus said she has thrown in more than they all, then all of them together. He says for they cast it out of their abundance, but she cast it out of her need.
She really didn't have it to give it, she gave it anyway because she wanted to give it to God. It was all she had. It was all she had. And that's what's required of us.
We're not talking material things. We have to give God all of us. He's not going to accept 95% service from us because that's not full commitment. To be fully committed, it means that we're going to honor God in every area of our life.
Do we make mistakes? Sure we do. I mean, we simply have to go to God and ask His forgiveness. But He remembers that we belong to Him.
He knows those that are His. And I'm glad that even when we've made that mistake and we go say, Father, I have wronged and I'm asking forgiveness. He knows us by the relationship that we have with Him. He knows who we are.
He knows where we are. He knows where our heart is that. And He knows that when we do things to be seen, praise is a man. Of course, I used to travel around the country and how the country is singing.
Now, I always enjoyed for people to enjoy what I was doing. I never wanted to hear anybody that I was singing to. He said, well, I'll be glad and He's done. You want people to enjoy it.
But what I did, I was honoring God. I would get lost in singing and sometimes just simply be looking up at my heart. I'm singing to God. That's who I'm.
That's my audience. I sing to an audience of one. There may be a thousand people out in the seats. But my true audience is one.
That's it. My father. See, that's what he remembers. He said, well, I'm going to give them 2 minds.
If you think about it, what would man be doing today? We'll be standing around watching all these people throwing these great big gifts. And we're going, oh look at how much money's coming in here. Look how much money's coming in here.
Look how much that person. Look how much that person. Oh, well here's 2 minds. But God looked down to 2 minds and goes, look at that.
That's what I remember. She remembered out of the need. She didn't do it because she was composed of do it because she had to. She said, I want to give this to you.
It's all I've got. I want to give it to you. And that's what God says. That's what I remember.
He is pleased because in a lot of times, even in my prayer life, sometimes I just go before Him. I say, God, I have not come to ask anything. I'm coming to thank you for what you've already done. I'm coming to thank you for my salvation.
I'm coming to thank you for my home, for my church family, for my children, my grandchildren. They're all healthy. God, I've just come to say, I love you. Amen.
And just think about how, actually, when you're testifying to it right now, I touch your heart and think about how you're touching the heart of God. How many people come to today to say it? I love you Lord. Amen.
Thank you for everything you've done. Not a lot of people do that anymore. And you know, you think about it. You hear prayer requests.
We love to have prayer requests. We love to pray with you because we believe that God answers prayer. We think that's one of the greatest weapons we have as a Christian is our prayer life. But you know, a lot of times we pray for people, but do we ever hear a lot of testimonies about how God delivered us?
You know, that's what's about. We are starting to in the church and it thrills my heart that we are starting, people are starting to stand up. You know what? I've got something to say.
But you know, we had to teach too. You have to teach people. You know what? We have to teach God.
He says bring your cares to me. He says cast them on me. But you also, we need to bring our testimonies too. Because when we stand up in the church service, we come together as one body in Christ.
But he says we come for the edification of the body. It means we come together to uplift each other and not to tear each other down. And when you stand there and give a testimony about God has delivered you from a certain thing, that helps encourage other people. It helps build faith in other people that the word of God is true.
Amen. We have people in our church and there's multiple people that God has healed of cancer. And you see them begin to talk about that. And all of a sudden you see the power of God begin to fall upon them and they begin to worship.
We have one guy that just came out of surgery and he's been shouting the praises of God. God inhabits the praises of his people. And the thing about it is when we really have a heart that is tuned toward God, then we're going to acknowledge him in all the things that we do. God is just not a Sunday morning person or Wednesday evening person.
He's got to be the same God to you on Monday through Friday through Saturday as he is the days that we're at church. It is a lifestyle that we choose to live. I choose to live my life in an atmosphere of worship unto God because that's the only way that I'm going to become an overcoming. We got to learn how to worship, how to praise because when we begin to do that, it comes up before heaven.
And I tell you what, when it comes up before heaven, the things that we send up and it becomes pleasing and a sweet fragrance unto God, then he's going to turn and start raining down those daily blessings, those overflowing blessings. And when we can become a channel that God can use, that's like when you talk about praying, we pray for people. Sometimes, and I've been giving myself, people give us a prayer request and you pray right then and then you forget about it. But then suddenly God will bring it to your mindset and there's a thing, you know what?
I fail. I should have been praying more about that. So then you've got to go through a couple minutes and God help my omission stuff here. Absolutely.
Absolutely. And we're all guilty of that. I mean, let's face it, we're all guilty of that. But God knows the heart.
And I will say is that the ways of man are right in his eyes, in his eyes, but God with the heart. See, God knows more about you than you will ever know about yourself. And he knows that when we're doing things because we want to be a blessing. And I enjoy writing my tithe check.
I mean, people would say that. But again, that's what you're talking about again. But you see, you're not giving it because of compulsion. A lot of people feel they're giving it because they're forced to.
But it's the gift that you're giving back to what God's already giving you. I mean, he's just asking for you 10% there. But a tithe check is I can look at that and say, well, you know, God has blessed me. He only asked for 10%.
So that means I've got 90% of what this is. And by giving unto God what he is because it belongs to him anyway. And he said first to bring him into his storehouse. So that doesn't mean I can do whatever I decided.
Well, God, I'm going to use your money this way because it'll be good. It's for a good cause. He said bring it into the storehouse. That's where our offerings come in and things like that.
But that's probably another lesson for another day, but we don't get too far on that. But in all things that we do, I get excited. I'm excited on Saturday night for church for Sunday morning. Why because I know God's going to be amen.
You know, I'd like to see all our regular members there every time the door opens. But the most important person I know that will be there regardless is the presence of Almighty God is going to show up. And when God is in the house, things are going to change the Lord. Amen.
And when we begin to worship him and you begin to see that begin to spread and it flows from breast to breast. I mean, and the Spirit of God is hovering all over that place and you just feel the breath of God breathing through your atmosphere. I mean, that's what I want God to breathe into my atmosphere. You know, now, I'm saying you're thinking about the atmosphere that we're talking about right here.
Could it be that sometimes, you know, rather than coming in and I try to think about what God's done for me, what I'm in the church service rather than what I want to do afterwards? I think sometimes we may come in to churches and people come in and churches going, well, we're going to eat this afternoon or, you know, what time we'll get out of here? So can I go and make the lake or something like that? Rather than coming in there thinking about what God's really done for us and getting our hearts where we're worshiping in spirit and in truth.
Because when you start thinking about what God's done for you, salvation alone. But again, all the things He's delivered you from, all the things sicknesses He's brought you out of, you start thinking about things like that. That gives you a heart of praise, a heart of worship, that heart of spirit and a heart of truth. To be in one mind in one chord means that there's unity there.
And when our minds are scattered, it's hard for the church to operate because we have to come together. We have to have a mindset of worship and of praise and of the babies. We're not there to serve God. We're there to honor and to worship Him and to praise Him because He's worthy of all that praise.
And we have to realize the Bible says, you know, we're not our own. And in His word it commands everything that have to have to praise you the Lord. Now God remembers those that are honoring Him from the heart. And He inhabits that praise.
There's a big difference between honoring Him from your heart and doing lip service. He knows the difference. You know the Pharisee and the sinner, whether down at the temple, the one's going to thank you Lord, that I give a tithe off of everything that I get. But He said the sinner wouldn't so much as look up to him.
It's a motor point. He's breathless. Have mercy on me Lord. I never cease to be amazed.
And I know God's for God all, but all my failures, all my baggage, all my problems, all my scars. He still loves me. He sure did. And He wants to spend time with me.
He wants to come and visit Tim and Steve and you and you. That's the love of God. God remembers everything that we've come through. God remembers that night that you cried yourself to sleep.
God remembers when you prayed over that child that was running the fever. And even though you were scared out of your mind, you trusted Him. These are the things that God remembers. God remembers those that want Him in their life.
So when you start talking about you, you remember. But aren't you glad? I know when you go to Him and you're saying, remember when? He says no to Him.
I don't remember that. Because He said that once He forgives us, He says He forgets it. He's not like man. We remember it.
But when we remember it, it ought to be to praise God for it. To praise God for where He's brought us from. And where He's taken us to. How will He be the God and the things He wants to do in the meantime before we get there?
Because I believe that He has something for every one of us. You know, you talk about who's Jeremiah is one of your favorite pastors of scripture. He's got something to say. He's fire-shit up my bones.
Yeah, I'm telling you. And when you're talking about that. The plans for us. Exactly.
Every one of us. He's got plans for everybody He calls. Not just preachers. He's got plans for everybody.
Because everybody's going to be an evangelist for some kind. Oh, yes. We're all an interesting experience because we're proclaiming His gospel. And that's what serving Him is all about.
We're claiming the good news to the lost and dying world, one soul at a time. We may not reach multitudes. But if we can reach one, one, for the kingdom of God, it's worth everything. And He will be pleased.
But the things that, something else that He remembers pastor Steve, He remembers what He has given you. And therefore we better remember the things that He's given us. I play a guitar and sing and write. Those didn't come from Tim Parton.
Those come from God. They're His. He came from God. They're His.
They're His. They're His. He gave them to me. He entrusted me with that.
And they'll come a day when I stand before Him. He'll open the book and say, how did you use that talent I gave you? Yep. Not for the judgment of sin.
But again, how we did it and with what heart we did it. Because it said all of our works would be tried by fire. Some say it would be wood, hay and stubble. But some would be precious stone.
And some would receive that reward for when we've done it with the right heart. And you may be out there listening and you say, you know what, I've been trying to do the right thing. It just seems like nothing is happening. And the devil say, well, God's forgot you.
God's forgot your situation. God's forgot your problem. No, He's not. He's not.
He's not. God remembers. God loves you. God cares.
And He's always been there just waiting for you to fully turn it over to Him. Pastor Steve, those hurting people, those people that just need to be encouraging us today. Let's go before the throne. Father, right now in the name of Jesus, the greatest of all names, Father, we come to you Lord, by the power of the blood that we're washed in.
We stand in the very throne room of God. And dear Father, I'm praying for those that are out there hurting today that they think that you don't know where they're at. But the Word of God says before you formed them in the womb, you knew them. And dear Father, I praise you and thank you and you don't know what situation they're in.
And you know exactly how to sit them free, exactly how to deliver them. All they need to do is call upon your name and trust. And Father, God, I know that you'll never fail to answer. And Father, we praise you and thank you for the moving of the Holy Spirit as we have said here today.
And as He is moving in households right now, we praise you and thank you that lives are being changed right now. In the name of Jesus, I praise you, Jesus. Thank you Lord, for what you're doing. And I ask it in Jesus' name, amen.
Amen. I felt that Father God, I praise you. I felt somebody received. Amen.
I believe so too. I agree. I'm talking to the show what God's doing and He's getting ready to do more of in this world. I believe in these last days where His Word says, I will pour out my Spirit.
I'm looking for a bread to begin to rain and that former ladder rain is going to... I'll give it off the same time. Yeah, yeah. I'll allude you.
Saturate our being. Saturate our ground. Prepare yourselves to be blessed by Almighty God. And He's soon coming.
He stands at the door. And I believe that's the door of eternity as well. And people are leaving this world at a rapid pace. Amen.
How we leave? That's right. And you know, we'd love to have you come visit us at the Vundellite Works Center. We're located at 923, Dolly Parton Parkway.
We have Sunday morning services at 11 and Wednesday night services at 6.30. And I tell you, we'd love to see you there to find out what God's doing in your life. And you're some of the testimonies of what God's done for you. Because I know they've been many, why?
Because they've been many for us too. And I tell you, praise God, praise me to Him today. He loves you. Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary and died for you because He loved you, took your sin dead.
And He wanted us to tell you. And right here, we love you. We'll see you next time on Spiritually Impact. Well, I'm Senior Pastor Tim Parton of the Bundellite Worship Center.
We'd like to invite you, if you're in our area, to stop by and visit us at the church. We're located at 923, Dolly Parton Parkway, right here in Severev. Our service times are Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Wednesday evening at 6.30.
