SPIRITUAL JOURNEY - FRIENDS IN MISSIONS

The idea of a 'spiritual pilgrimage' might conjure images of ancient routes and sacred sites, but the "Spiritual Pilgrimage: Friends in Mission" guide offers a profound inner journey, inspired by two companions who lost their way after the crucifixion of Jesus.Their aimless journey from Jerusalem to Emmaus perfectly encapsulates a life without God's presence. Yet, when Jesus joined them, and their hearts, initially clouded by human grief, were opened by divine truth in the prophets' words, their spirits began to burn.This inner pilgrimage is deeply rooted in the Emmaus Journey dynamic, explored through four distinct spiritual lenses. These include Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Teresa of Calcutta, and Saint Carlo Acutis. They offer us a framework for reflecting on daily readings from Ordinary Time in Liturgical Year A, 2026.
