Spiritual Maturity—Growing in Christlike Character Spiritual maturity is a central goal of the Christian life. It is more than knowledge of scripture or religious activity. It involves the transformation of the heart, mind, and behavior to reflect the character of Jesus Christ. The New Testament emphasizes that believers are called to grow in faith, wisdom, and love, becoming fully equipped to serve God and others. Spiritual maturity is also the development of Christlike character, evident in how a Christian thinks, acts, and relates to God and others. It involves obedience to God's word, discernment in moral decisions, and consistent demonstration of love, humility, and self-control.
