Spiritual Vision - Part 6

Spiritual Vision is the gift of sight that outruns what the natural eyes can confirm. In 2 Kings 6:17, Elisha prays that his servant's eyes be opened, and the young man sees the mountain already surrounded by horses and chariots of fire -- the battle was never in doubt, only unseen. Paul echoes this in Ephesians 1:15-18, praying that the eyes of the Corinthians believers' understanding would be enlightened, so they could grasp the hope of their calling and the riches of their inheritance. 2 Corinthians 5:7 names the discipline this vision requires: "we walk by faith, not by sight" -- trusting God's revealed truth even when circumstances offer no visible proof.
