Sunora join us for this week’s Spotlight Mix, with Chertkovski and Alar putting together a session that sits somewhere between dreamy open-air house, rolling club grooves and the sort of records that sound particularly good once the sun has disappeared. The project only officially arrived in 2026, but there is plenty of experience behind it. Chertkovski and Alar have both spent years producing, DJing and moving through different corners of electronic music, and Sunora feels like the point where those influences have properly met. Their first release came alongside Lee Burridge with 'Bianco Montana' on All Day I Dream, before the duo launched their own SUNCTURE imprint in April. Since then, they’ve been steadily building around warm synths, rolling basslines, organic touches and house music that has enough melody to breathe without forgetting what the kick drum is there for. That same balance runs through their Spotlight Mix. There’s plenty of Sunora DNA scattered across the tracklist, including FunkT!de & Sunora’s unreleased 'Sex Machine', Sunora and FunkT!de’s 'Underground Baby', and another unreleased collaboration with Lee Burridge, 'Man With a Guitar'. Elsewhere, Rafael’s 'Gotta Be Cool' on Crosstown Rebels adds some low-slung swagger, Volkoder’s 'Steamy' brings a heavier groove, and Jackie (IT) and AVIV SAB’s 'Sexy M.F.' keeps things firmly aimed at the floor. There are a few IDs tucked away too, which is always a good sign. One of the biggest curiosities lands right at the start, with an unreleased Lee Burridge and Sunora edit of Deee-Lite’s 'What Is Love?' setting the tone before the mix moves through SUNCTURE, Maccabi House, Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels and All Day I Dream territory. It is a strong snapshot of what Sunora are building right now. Musical without drifting off, deep without losing its bounce, and packed with records that could work just as comfortably on a beach in Thailand as they could in a dark basement several hours later.
