Everyone has experience with the kind of person we are talking about: one who disapproves of us, constantly criticizes, projects their own insecurities and looks to constantly drag us down. For some, this is a boss or work associate, for others a spouse or romantic partner, for others a family member.In my case, this person was my own mother.
