Star:Lemon-Zero (From Beyond the Nexus)

All music was featured in an exhibit at Factory Obscura's Mix-Tabe interactive 6,000sq ft. installation: https://www.factoryobscura.com/mixtape For the level for the game within the game. Most of the piece is written using the YM2612, the sound chip from the classic Sega Genesis console. There are a few lines based on the RP2C33 from classic NES consoles and also a lead in the B section is based on the SID chip from Commadore 64s. It had a grittier timbre in a way that made it a strong candidate for a lead while still feeling very expressive. I often think of the SID as like a digital violin - It cuts through a mix expressively but can also sound tame and beautiful when needed.
