There are a few lines based on the RP2C33 from classic NES consoles "The Intro track to a VideoGame inside of a videogame"

Most of the piece is written using the YM2612, the sound chip from the classic Sega Genesis console. There are a few lines based on the RP2C33 from classic NES consoles and also a lead in the B section is based on the SID chip from Commadore 64s. It had a grittier timbre in a way that made it a strong candidate for a lead while still feeling very expressive. I often think of the SID as like a digital violin - It cuts through a mix expressively but can also sound tame and beautiful when needed.

Hot Potato Challenge for ECF2019. We passed a set of stems from one person to the next and were each given a week to produce a track. This is my track and is a remix of a track by Nozif called I am Potato, but I love you. I used nearly every stem (or melodic theme within a stem) in the remix in one form or another, with the exception of the drums. BLAST OFF!

An insomniac sitting up in her bed with her head in her hands. She appears to have been jolted awake from a terrible nightmare that has left her disturbed, scared and anxious. Nine swords hang on the dark wall behind her, representing the negative thoughts that weigh heavily on her mind. The base of the woman’s bed features a carving of one person defeating another, and roses and the outlines of astrological symbols adorn the quilt wrapped around her.

In the Five of Pentacles, two people walk through the icy wind and snow; both are destitute and living in poverty. One man is injured and on crutches, while the other is barefoot and has only a thin blanket to protect him from the bleak winter weather. Behind them sits a church with its lit up and exuding warmth, a symbol of hope, faith and spiritual support. However, because the two people are so focused on their plight, they fail to see that help is available to them and continue on in their desperate journey.

I wrote this around 2002, so if it sounds dated - hey, it is. I mostly worked with outboard gear back then, (like the Alesis DX4 sticks out like a sore thumb) Took forever. Thank goodness VSTs are very nice these days, don't really miss MIDI hell that much >.<
