FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 1, 2024In response to former President Donald Trump being found guilty of contempt in criminal court, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:No one is above the law, and former President Donald Trump is showing how desperate he is to evade responsibility for his crimes or financial obligations. It is a sad day for America and the world when a former United States President has been found guilty of contempt of court. Former President Donald Trump does not respect everyday Americans, our laws, or our Constitution. Past and future presidents should work towards solving problems, not spend their days creating chaos. With over 91 criminal indictments before him, we at People Power United will continue to hold him accountable for his actions. We applaud all Americans who serve our justice system - judges, lawyers, juries, and staff.
