After experiencing life-threatening cancer in his early 20s that left a permanent facial difference and required more than 30 surgeries, Terry still calls it "a gift in disguise." There are three other gifts he has found in multiple decades of leading teams: Gratitude, Perspective and Empathy. His advice for leaders? "Reward initiative, not results. People will learn more from the mistakes they made than their wins oftentimes." Through it all, Terry remans focused on the fundamentals. "Stay humble, never assume you have all the answers and listen more. Two ears and on mouth, right?".
